Sensei Wayne Otto joined Dudley Shukokai Karate Club for a course at the Thorns Community College in Brierley Hill. We had two sessions with him, one for purple belts and under and one in the afternoon for brown and black belts.
The morning session began with Sensei Otto doing his own warm-up ,then onto partner work and some combination techniques building up to about eight techniques by the end of the session.
After some well deserved lunch it was time for the seniors training session, Sensei Otto told them he was going to teach them the terrible 10's this turned out to be 10 combinations from each partner. Nearly everyone was struggling to remember everything by the end of the session. Sensei Otto had some random partners out to see if anyone could do all the 10 techniques "no one could" however everyone was much more sharper and intune with their partners by the end of the session. Sensei Wayne Otto finished the session by showing everyone how it should be done and poor Daniel Read was on the receiving end!!! Sensei Wayne Otto then presented everyone their own certificates who participated on the course.
A big thank you to Glen Lynch and Sam Dean who travelled up for the course from Bournmouth, Sensei Wayne Otto then took time out to sign autographs and sparring mitts for the students and to pose with them for some pictures.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and all look forward to training with him again when he joins us for our annual training camp in Blackpool in September this year.
