Dudley Shukokai Karate Club made the trip down South to the annual South West Open Championships, some of the club were also representing F.E.K.O in individual and team events.
The F.E.K.O team kata of Dudley Shukokai Karate Club students Rhianna Davies, Tom Jordan and Steph Walker managed to secure the bronze medal after quite a few rounds to get to the semi finals.
In the fighting Steph Walker had some difficult fights but still came home with the bronze medal. The F.E.K.O boys team Liam Jackson(Dudley), Peter Bowater (Pensnett Shotokan) and Aaron Haywood (Dudley) all fought well and were eventually rewarded for their hard work with the bronze medals.
The last event of the day as usual was the mens team, Daniel Read from Dudley Shukokai Karate Club was to be a valuable member of the team eventually helping them to go on to win the bronze medal. Not a bad feat considering unbeknown to everyone Daniel Read had broken his hand three fights previously.
Well done to to all Dudley Shukokai Karate Club students who travelled down to Weston everyone did themselves proud.
