Here at Dudley Shukokai Club, we are proud of our under 8's class and of the exceptional students it has produced. Please see black belt page and click on "Harvey Hawkes" who was our youngest black belt at the club and he started his karate career in this class. The children are taught all the techniques that are performed in the advanced classes, including punches, blocks, impact pad work, focus pad work and fighting techniques (performed in as controlled manner with the black belts). They also have incentives to work hard and behave while in their lesson, "student of the week" trophies are handed out at the end of the lesson, also our clubs mascot "Kai" bear gets to go home with one lucky child each week! The children also enjoy the games we play at the end of the lesson - all karate based of course!
There is no greater reward than a parent telling me karate has changed their child's life for the better and watching them leave the class with smiles on their faces, knowing how much they have enjoyed their lesson. Our under Karate Kids class runs on Saturday mornings at 10:15.
