Josh Johnsons Kata Championships - 17th July 2011 - Wolverhampton
Dudley Shukokai made the short journey to Wolverhampton for the JJ Kata Championships
Our younger members got us off to a great start taking the gold silver and bronze medals in the under 9 section. Georgia Burgess earned herself a very well deserved silver in the under 14 section with Ryan Brookes taking the bronze medal. In the under 18 section we had great results with Liam Jackson topping the table, Jamie Armstrong taking the silver and Aaron Haywood earning the bronze medal. Not to be outdone the seniors had a great result too with Daniel Read taking the gold in the over 18 section, Mandie Read had the silver and Scott Reynolds earned himself the bronze medal. We then earned a gold in the veterans section won my sensei Mandie Read and Vanessa Stokes earning herself a well deserved bronze.
Onto our pairs and there was an excellent result for the under 12 section with Harvey Hawkes and Farren Brown beating 13 other teams to take the title. Louis Brierley and Georgia Burgess earned themselves a well deserved silver in the under 14 section while our over 18’s took silver and bronze medals. The last event of the day was the adult and child section and all of our seniors had been training hard with our junior members and it had got quite competitive in the club !!!!! The final results were Daniel Read and Ryan Brookes ..gold Mandie Read and Georgia Burgess...silver and Vanessa Stokes and Jessica Wall...bronze .
We were then just waiting for the results for the club of the day and Dudley Shukokai were the lucky winners !!!! there was one more trophy to be awarded.....competitor of the day and to her surprise this was won by Sensei Mandie !!!
