Dudley shukokai travelled to nottingham for the FEKO national championships held at Harvey Hadden sports centre.
The day got off to a great start with a win in the team kata  closely followed by wins by sensei Mandie in the ladies kata and sensei Daniel in the mens kata.
The girls teams followed and all the 15-17 girls teams performed well and both teams secured bronze medals.
Mens 18-20 years fighting was up next and there was another win for Daniel in the over 70kg section with team mate Adam taking the silver .
Scott Reynolds then fought excellantly to win the gold in the under 70kg catorgory.
Junior grade men were up next and there was some brilliant fighting by the guys with a win for Jason Stokes from our sister club pensnett and Paul Brown taking the silver while team mate Mike Aston got a well deserved bronze. The under 70kg junior men continued the winning streak with a win for newcomer Tariq Murad and team mate Josh Pearson taking a well deserved bronze  A good result for Tariq as he had already won gold earlier in the day in the kata section.
Ladies team followed and sensei Mandie joined forces with FEKO team mates Helen and Clare from the Bournmouth dojo to earn a well deserved gold in team fighting and also in rotational teams.
The mens veterans was up next and we had 2 guys in this catorgory that had both not competed for years !!!! Sab Lally and Alan Bull did the club proud bring back a bronze and silver .
Rotational mens teams finished off the day with both our teams fighting excellantly. The final was the Dudley B team against the Bournmouth dojo ..... it proved to be as good was expected, with a close score all through the fight. Daniel held the fight together gaining some much needed points while scott reynolds proved to be someone to watch in the future showing much maturity for his young years gaining some excellant points !!!!
The final score was 11-7 to the bournmouth dojo experience winning through in the end but our youngsters proving they are excellant prospects for the future of the Dudley club, FEKO and Karate England
