


Over 100 of the Dudley shukokai karate students travelled to Glocester for the shito kyu championships. The new venue the GL1 arena in glocester was brilliant and the scene was set for a brilliant day of competition karate. First up was the kata and there was some brilliant performances by some really young students from some of the other clubs. In the end some of our younger members had some good results. Louis Brierley gained the silver medal in the boys 10 to 12 kata event with team mate Chris Plant taking the bronze. The older members were also performing well with wins for Derek Budd ,Daniel Read, and the team kata with the Dudley B team taking the silver medal. Onto the fighting and one of our youngest members 5 year old Harvey Hawkes took our first fighting medal of the day gaining a silver in the 5 to 6 year old catorgory. There was a good win for one of Dudley's newer members , Rhys Williams with teammate Sam Wooldridge taking the silver . There were also wins for Georgia Moore in the girls 13 to 15 division, Rhianna Davies in the girls 16 to 17 ,Adam Zuibrzynski in the boys 16 to 17,Derek Budd in the junior mens and Daniel Read in the senior mens.
Well done to all who took part !! Final medal total...... 9 gold 11 silver 11 bronze
