Dudley Shukokai Karate Club annual training with Wayne Otto
Over seventy students travelled to Blackpool for Dudley Shukokai Karate Clubs annual training camp. Sensei Wayne Otto OBE had agreed to teach the club and everyone was eagerly waiting for the training session to begin, Sensei Wayne Otto didn't let anyone down he was very informative with showing us techniques to use.
The days training started at 8 am sharp with a run around Blackpool with sensei Mandie Read and then some sprints up and down sand hills. Everyone had earned their breakfast and after a short break they all went to the training session sensei Wayne Otto would be teaching.
Amongst all the techniques he was teaching the one which all the students enjoyed was how to deceive an opponent into thinking you are going to do a technique lower on the body and then change your mind and attack the head region, he also got us all to get the distance right between an opponent for the techniques to work. If that was not enough after a short break sensei Wayne Otto then taught us sweep and take down techniques which everyone were keen to try out with each other.
Before we knew it the training session was over, sensei Wayne Otto handed out to every student who participated a certificate as a memento of the training session they attended. With the training session over sensei Wayne Otto was then bombarded by all the students who wanted him to sign their mitts, one request was from a young member of Dudley Shukokai Karate Club Molly Bulter who had broken her foot, she asked him if he would sign her cast which was only fair as she had also done the training.
A huge thank you to sensei Wayne Otto for taking time out of his busy schedule to come and teach the club at Blackpool, everyone gained something from his vast experience.
